Title: Master Stylist
About Rena:

Rena has been the proud owner of Millennia Salon and Spa since November of 1998. Rena’s initial training was received through the Career Institute of Technology, and has since, graciously dedicated 27 years to the industry. Although she does not recall the defining moment, Rena knew from the young age of 14 that she did not want to dedicate her life to any other profession. Rena contributes the uniqueness of Millennia to the “People that I have working with me, what we have created, and the relationships that we maintain with our clientele”.

About Her Clientele

Rena believes that discussing each client’s likes and dislikes is critical to delivering the best end result. She also takes into consideration the amount of time her clients will dedicate to maintaining their desired look at home. Rena will offer her professional opinion, and would rather say “no”, than jeopardize the integrity of a client’s hair. She feels passionately about educating her clientele on product knowledge for at-home care; “When my clients come in looking good, that is the best compliment. I really want them to feel good when they look in the mirror”.

When Rena was asked about services she most enjoys, she gave the following insight, “I look forward to updo’s, creating different styles. I enjoy styling hair, and definitely razor cutting. Diversity … I enjoy changing looks”. The most rewarding aspect of her job, however, “When my clients send me a referral … that is the biggest compliment they could give to me”.

About Her Team

Rena spoke very highly of her team, it is truly where the majority of her passion lies. “I am passionate about my team’s growth. It is rewarding to see my young girls excited about the industry. To see them grow. I love seeing them excited about a service they provided to our guests.”

About the Industry

“I love this industry, why would you want to do anything else? So many people helped me get to where I am. I look up to and have been inspired by my previous employers. I love the Inspiring Champions program Lauren Gartland offers, it teaches us that this business is so much more than just cutting and coloring hair. Jo Blackwell is wonderful technically, and is a great motivator … she’s a real person and she does what she says. Howard Hafetz, CEO of the Raylon Coorporation has been a great mentor … in the my journey of making the transition from a Designer to a Salon Owner. Michael Cole and Geno Stampora have also inspired me.”
